‘Mono’ Fish was inspired by a combination of textures found by the coast and my passion for printmaking. These patterns were inspired by my drawings and photography of textures found within the harbours and along the coast of Norfolk.
Utilising the process of Mono printing enabled me hand-draw images to be transferred onto tissue paper to create a palette of textures and tones. Once dry, these pieces of tissue paper were applied to the body of the sculpture to explore the diversity of textures and patterns that can be found within many species of fish.
