Exclusive photographs by the professional Chris Boulton. These are not mass produced and here are two more (only 4 released for this auction only curtesy of Chris) framed and stunning examples of his work. The first is the large sea scape or escape and you’ll be lost in admiring the deep blue of the sea. the view is from St Ives looking up the North Coast, measurements (in the frame); 98 cm wide, 68 cm high and the depth of the frame is 1.5cm.  Secondly, Trevor Tyldesley pulling in the catch in his boat called Blue Bell, framed; 63cm wide, 83cm high and 3cm deep. There’s no glass or perspex included in the frames. Both framed photographs are worth over £200.

How did a professional photographer from Gloucester end up creating a calendar about St Ives Fishermen? Well Chris Boulton started visiting friends in St Ives and was immediately drawn to the people and natural beauty of Cornwall. He took a photo of fisherman, John Whit, last year. Then posted it the “Love St Ives” Facebook site and was encouraged by many who enjoyed the composition and quality of the image, to then make a calendar. Chris loved the idea and set about making plans to come back to Cornwall in between his busy schedule of fashion photo shoots, both here in the UK and throughout Europe.

With the help of local friends, he went out to sea with the St Ives fishermen, who were happy to take part. “I have to admit after spending 3 days with these characters, (the fishermen) that I have a fond affection for them all. Chatting and listening to their stories, they couldn’t have done more to help me.” Chris got in touch with the Fishermen’s Mission after hearing about their work from the Fishermen’s Mission and decided that all proceeds from this calendar should go to them “they have always been there for fishermen in times of crisis” explained Chris.

The 2018 A3 calendar,  retailed at £10, all proceeds went directly to the Fishermen’s Mission, as everyone involved in the compilation received no payment. A copy of the calendar, only a few were left in the archive, will be included so the wining bidder will see Chris’s work.
